The latest SILVER stats for December have been posted. Look to the first post of this thread to get the details. Always look to the line just before the Kitco quotes to see the last post that was included in the latest update.

I managed to search 3 dime boxes and one box of halves this past weekend.

String dime box: skunk
Brinks dime box 1: skunked again
Brinks dime box 2: '49D

Half box: '64, '67, '69
Unfortunately, this is my best ever half box. That is why I have concentrated on dimes.

Possibly my best box to date. Dimes could not be found until lately for me.

1-Box Niks

War Nickel Rate remains fabulous.

I hope to start up halves again in January.

I've seen a few nickels since I went on break from halves. *cough*

$40 in cwr halves netted 3-40%

I was able to buy some silver from a teller the other day. She went to a coin shop and they offered her $30.

1-1987 Statue of Libery Dollar
1-1952 Franklin
8-40% halves
3-Silver washington QTRS
1-Silver Canadian Qtr
1-Silver dime.
8- Clad Ikes
1.50 in loose change.
There was other stuff in the tin when whe showed it to the dealer, but she said she took some out.

It was a quick deal when she was on a 5 min break. I did not have time to see everything and think about it. She asked for $40 and I said I woudl give her $30 w/o the Ikes. I am going back today to give her a little more now that I have looked it a totaled it up.

2-Boxes Niks

2-WN
3-Bufs
1X1924
1X192?
And
1X1913 Type I, Full Horn, and it appears to be gold plated, a very long time ago. It's in great shape and has some tiny dark spots. There are no wear marks on the "gold" and not cupronickel shows. The edge is perfect. Very odd coin. I have a "Racketeer Nickel" which was when gamblers would gold plate the first "no cent" V nickel and it's not nearly this nice.

I have made some scans but having difficulty getting a nice set of images.

Also found
1-1996 Swiss 20something
1-2006 English 20 Pence

Silver Santa visit!

$660 in halves:

7 x 90%
5 x 40%

The cool thing was at one bank, I only had $100. Teller says she has a bag w/ $429. She was nice and counted out $100 for me, in which were 3 90% Kennedys! Needless to say, I dumped immediately, scrounged up another $200+, and went back. This time I took her a little bag of Christmas candy to say "thanks for being a dear and counting out those coins... and by the way, could I get the rest of that bag?;-)"

All the silver was in that one bag.

Went through another $250 Brinks dime box today and found:

1-1953 Rosie
1-1964 Rosie

Also, the teller had some loose halves in her drawer and I asked to have look at them. She got them for me and in the pile was a 40% 1967. How do you calculate that, Country? I didn't buy the whole pile, just cherry picked the silver...

Half Box #184

1 1967

That's the last of that batch and I'm not sorry to see to go. Hopefully tomorrow's batch will not be from the same cursed pallet.

BTW - does anyone happen to have any idea how many half boxes are usually on a full pallet?
