Made it to 5,500 rolls, or one hundred and ten boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 5,401-5,500:

* 1942 - 1977: 422, or 8.44%.
* 1978 - 1979: 160, or 3.20%.
* 1980 - 1981: 238, or 4.76%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1519, or 30.38%
* U.S. pre-'82: 133, or 2.66%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 13, or 0.26%. Eight (8) of them are wheaties.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 2485, or 49.70%.

Boy, did I luck out with this batch. It even gave me hope that the new normal will again be displaced by the old normal :)

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 273, or 5.46%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)
I did it. I've been crazy enough to sort through 10,000 rolls of pennies. Almost makes you think, "some people will do anything to build up a coin collection."

I'm reached 5,600 rolls, or one hundred and twelve boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 5,501-5,600:

* 1942 - 1977: 478, or 9.56%.
* 1978 - 1979: 179, or 3.58%.
* 1980 - 1981: 262, or 5.24%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1542, or 30.84%
* U.S. pre-'82: 234, or 4.68%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 8, or 0.16%. Five (5) of them are wheaties.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 2703, or 54.06%.

My best batch yet, by far. It's the first time I've ever gotten over 50%. An outlier, but a welcome one.

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 401, or 8.02%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)
I did it. I've been crazy enough to sort through 10,000 rolls of pennies. Almost makes you think, "some people will do anything to build up a coin collection."

crazypennyguy - nice finds for Canada! Unfortunately I don't see many Canadian cents where I sort.

But the other day I did find a rare (for me) George VI 1949 in my $50 bag of cents. Nice to see a "King" mixed in with all my Abe's! :)

Also then found one of your avatar - is it called a Rock Dove? Very pretty coin.

Will sort more and post here later!

I'm now up to 5,700 rolls, or one hundred and fourteen boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 5,601-5,700:

* 1942 - 1977: 420, or 8.40%.
* 1978 - 1979: 113, or 2.26%.
* 1980 - 1981: 178, or 3.56%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1308, or 26.16%
* U.S. pre-'82: 128, or 2.56%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 13, or 0.26%. Four (4) of them are wheaties.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 2160, or 43.20.

A nice total, one slightly above the mean. My stroke of good fortune couldn't last, and it didn't.

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 357, or 7.14%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)
I did it. I've been crazy enough to sort through 10,000 rolls of pennies. Almost makes you think, "some people will do anything to build up a coin collection."

I'm now up to 5,800 rolls, or one hundred and sixteen boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 5,701-5,800:

* 1942 - 1977: 404, or 8.08%.
* 1978 - 1979: 144, or 2.88%.
* 1980 - 1981: 169, or 3.38%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1140, or 22.80%
* U.S. pre-'82: 113, or 2.26%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 18, or 0.36%. Eight (8) of them are wheaties.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 1988, or 39.76%.

Once again, from good to not-so good. Maybe the next batch will be better.

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 374, or 7.48%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)

Now up to 5,900 rolls, or 118 boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 5,801-5,900:

* 1942 - 1977: 463, or 9.26%.
* 1978 - 1979: 137, or 2.74%.
* 1980 - 1981: 182, or 3.64%.

------------------------------------
Total coppers: 2300, or 46.00%.

Nice bounceback. Again, the bob and weave have temporarily favoured me.

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 238, or 4.76%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)
