HIGHLIGHTS OF October's SILVER SEARCHING:
October was productive, the best month since May. $120,611.50 halves were searched, only $16000 more than August, but 447 more SILVER halves were found. 5 SILVER halves per box on average were found. War Nicks found increased to 124 in October (the best month since February), there were 170 SILVER dimes found, and 13 SILVER quarters were discovered in the wild. UDEric's 66 SILVERs box was the best half box and AGCoinHunter found 41 SILVERs in a $1000 bag. gravybro grabbed 4 SILVER dimes out of two different $250 boxes of dimes during October. zerocd found 7 War Nicks in a $100 box, the most productive box this year, 6 War Nicks in another box, and found 3 V-Nicks this month too.
On the leadership boards: sdmarasso found the most SILVER halves (501), while UDEric had to settle for second with 355 SILVER halves. killerken53 found the most SILVER dimes (33), just beating out rakattack and gravybro who each found 32 SILVER dimes this month. zerocd was the best at finding War Nicks (55) and cwgii was second best with 19.
Other highlights are as follows:
10/3 - hirbonzig gets a 1964-D quarter in change at McDonalds, goes back in and gets 3 more SILVER quarters.
10/5 - killerken53 finds 18 SILVER Roosevelts, an 80% SILVER Canadian dime, and a pop can tab in a $1000 bag of dimes.
10/7 - ZigMeister finds 4 War Nicks and 11 Buffalos (a whole herd) in a $100 box of nickels.
10/14 - gravybro gets two boxes of dimes with 4 SILVERs in each of them.
10/18 - Dumpster Diver finds 31 SILVERs in a box of halves.
10/18 - sdmarasso reports a 37 SILVER box of halves.
10/19 - zerocd finds a 1905 V-nickel in a box of nickels.
10/20 - UDEric finds 90 Walkers, 50 Franklins, 3 90% JFKs, and 40 40% JFKs in 20 rolls of CWRs.
10/20 - zerocd finds another V-Nick, a 1906.
10/21 - UDEric finds 3 Walkers, 56 Franklins, and 7 90% JFKs in a box of halves; the best this month.
10/21 - zerocd gets his third V-Nick, another 1905, in a box nickels.
10/21 - misteroman finds another SILVER quarter emptying his Coin-op Laundry - 2 months in a row.
10/25 - AGCoinHunter finds 41 SILVER halves in a $1000 bag of halves.
10/31 - zerocd gets two boxes of nickels and finds 7 War Nicks in the first box and 6 War Nicks in the second box.

It's important to post your SKUNKS as well as your great SILVER finds. That keeps the statistics honest. I'll try to post some graphs of our SILVER finds as 2010 proceeds along by adding data to this initial post. I'll see if I can post some interesting insights into the data here in this initial post for 2010 too. Even though this is a national tabulation of all our finds, I think its fun to know what finds are being made and at what frequentcy.
It might be interesting to see how many Barbers, Walkers, Franklins, and 90% Kennedys are found too. Also, how many Barbers and Mercurys dimes we find. I'll try to keep track of all of these.
