After a long break from dumps I finally stopped in and grabbed 0.11 off the magnet yesterday.

7.32 + an Ike dollar

Monday is not the day to go. It's the official "clean & calibrate" the coin counter day. One magnet was cleaned right in front of me. I asked, 'what do you do with those?'

The supervisor said, 'we need to reconcile them for the daily balance'

translation: I need to put them in my purse and transfer them to the coffee can on top of my fridge

:D hey, it's all good. I scam them, they scam me...whatever.

The best part was her handing me the Ike that had been lodged in the spin cycle..."You can have this if you want...(wait for it)...they demoneytized these a long time ago"

She said 'de-money-tized', not demonetized, I swear.

That's what I said! Funny, this one branch I usually don't score much. But 3 times I have found silver there. Of the many other branches that I go to, only one time did I find silver in the reject chute.

Stayed home and watched golf :shh:

Been meaning to ask...do you guys dig until you get every last coin off the magnet? I'm always leaving the last two or three or four stuck on there. I just can't seem to pry them past the raised edges, and I don't want to attract the extra attention by fussing over it too much.

I was thinking of wearing some sort of magnetic ring that was stronger than their magnet...just to slip on after getting most of them off the usual way. That's probably crazy

Oh, here's a hint: (I tried this, it worked) bring a dummy key of some sort (should look like a house key). When you feel too many eyes on you, or you just get paranoid for any reason, let the key slip in with your dump coins. Announce..."oops! I dropped my pretend house key in with my coins..." They have to pull out the basket, giving you at least a chance to ask for that 'worthless foreign stuff'

I usually leave a couple behind for the sake of speed. Depends on the branch and the situation. Not trying to be sneaky really, just don't want to stand there for a full minute picking at the thing. If I get the basket back in place before they can say something about it they tend not to bother.

Depends on the place and amount. I have many stops where if I left 4 behind I would have left everything! :) But if I'm at a branch with a suspicious or mean teller and they have nothing more to do but watch me I will either be super fast or (a couple of times) I've passed on checking it right in front of them so as to not poison the well.
