Hello Fellow SILVER treasure hunters:

In September 2014, please post your finds right here.

HIGHLIGHTS OF AUGUST'S SILVER SEARCHING:

LOOKING FOR A DEDICATED INDIVIDUAL TO CARRY THE SILVER STATS IN 2014. I WILL HELP YA' GET SET UP, BUT IT'S A BIT MUCH FOR ME THESE DAYS. SEND ME A PM, IF INTERESTED. (I WILL CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN THE COPPER STATS.) IF NOT, EVEN WITHOUT THE STATS, I WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE THE MONTHLY THREAD FOR ALL TO POST.

COMING SOON!!

It's important to post your SKUNKS as well as your great SILVER finds. That keeps the statistics honest. I'll try to post some graphs of our SILVER finds as 2013 proceeds along by adding data to this initial post. I'll see if I can post some interesting insights into the data here in this initial post for 2013 too. Even though this is a national tabulation of all our finds, I think its fun to know what finds are being made and at what frequentcy.

It might be interesting to see how many Barbers, Walkers, Franklins, and 90% Kennedys are found too. Also, how many Barbers and Mercurys dimes we find. I'll try to keep track of all of these.

Now, go out and find that SILVER treasure!!

Those of you who are considering becoming RealCent members - Why not join today and stake your SILVER claims right here? Compete with other members in the race to see who is the best SILVER hunter.

Statistical data includes all posts September 01, 2014 mid-night forum time and later.

100.00 CWR nickels = 1945-P War nickel
1 loose 1943- P war nickel from my Dry Cleaner's till. I saw it, and politely asked, and she sold it to me!

Got $60 dimes - which included 4 rolls of new 2014s (which I didn't catch when I got them), so net of rolls searched = $40. I kept two of the 2014's, and sent the rest back to find a home in the credit union's counter...

Skunkage.......

I guess you already returned most of the 2014's, but for future reference I'd have considered keeping them because Kennedys after 2001 were (at least for the most part) not struck for general circulation and have quote low mintages. I just sold some original mint-wrapped 2005 rolls, which I got for face value ($10) at a bank circa 2010 for $22.

Please note that ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- sometimes substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) as well.

Got $362.50 face in halves from 4 different banks. Got (1) 90%er (1964) plus (5) 40%ers. At one of the banks I got $150 in halves- the teller told me $120 were brought in by a "little old lady" and I noticed that there were three plastic coin collector tubes instead of the usual bank wrappers. I was just licking my chops and said I'd take everything the guy had. When I opened the first roll, I saw the one 90%er mentioned above plus one 40%er, so I was pretty psyched. But the other $140 from that bank was a total skunk. Oh well, at least I got four more 40%ers from the other banks I went to.

I would think it would be real difficult to get Canadian halves, even if they weren't silver, wouldn't it? Do banks carry many halves in Canada?

I have gone through well over 800 Ikes in the past several years. Only one "S" mint found.
