HIGHLIGHTS OF March's SILVER SEARCHING:
March half searching was about $11000 less than February. However, production of SILVER halves was 19% more than February. $169,191.50 halves were searched, and 1245 SILVER halves were found. 3.67 SILVER halves per box on average were found. Also, of the 323 half boxes searched, 165 of them were SKUNKS!! War Nicks found (100) was 40 more than in February; there were 622 SILVER dimes found (an all time record); and 8 SILVER quarters were discovered in the wild. CardNCoins had the best $500 box in March with 172 SILVER halves. AGCoinHunter found 55 SILVERs in a $1000 bag in March. argent_pur got 11 SILVER dimes out of a $250 box of dimes, the best one this year. jtlee321 found 32 War Nicks in a $100 bag of nickels (an all time record).
On the leadership boards: CardNCoins found an outstanding number of SILVER halves (392), far exceeding everyone else; jtlee321 had to settle for second with 205 SILVER halves. sisuraha found an amazing number of SILVER dimes (409); CardsNCoins who found 46 was a distant second. zerocd and jtlee321 were the best at finding War Nicks, each finding 34 during March.
Other highlights are as follows:
3/1 - zerocd reports finding 23 War Nicks, 7 Buffalos, and 47 proof nickels in a $100 box.
3/2 - ZigMeister finds 15 Buffalos in a box of nickels.
3/2 - Coppercrazy gets 75 SILVER halves, including a 1925 Stone Mountain, in 10 rolls of CWR halves.
3/7 - CardNCoins grabs 25 SILVER halves swapping them from a bank half bag.
3/10 - argent_pur finds 8 SILVER dimes in a $250 box of dimes.
3/16 - argent_pur finds 11 SILVER dimes in a $250 box of dimes.
3/18 - cwgii reports finding a 1910 V-Nick.
3/18 - CardsNCoin reports finding a 56 SILVER half box, including 25 Walkers and 30 Franklins; and an outstanding 172 SILVER half box that included 88 Walkers and 80 Franklins.
3/19 - jtlee321 finds 7 SILVER dimes, including a 1945 Micro-S in a $250 box of dimes.
3/21 - sisuraha gets a 1922 Peace dollar from a teller.
3/25 - AGCoinHunter gets a $1000 half box that contains 55 SILVER halves.
3/30 - sisuraha gets 39 SILVER halves from $105 teller and CWRs.
3/31 - sisuraha finds 402 SILVER dimes, including 21 Mercuries, in $145 of CWR dimes (best SILVER dime find ever reported here).
3/31 - jtlee321 scores 32 War Nicks in a $100 bag of nickels (best War Nick find ever reported here).

It's important to post your SKUNKS as well as your great SILVER finds. That keeps the statistics honest. I'll try to post some graphs of our SILVER finds as 2011 proceeds along by adding data to this initial post. I'll see if I can post some interesting insights into the data here in this initial post for 2011 too. Even though this is a national tabulation of all our finds, I think its fun to know what finds are being made and at what frequentcy.
It might be interesting to see how many Barbers, Walkers, Franklins, and 90% Kennedys are found too. Also, how many Barbers and Mercurys dimes we find. I'll try to keep track of all of these.
