At my dump bank on Saturday, they were busy, so a manager ran my bag of coins. I asked him the same question I have asked the tellers several times "can I have the bowl of coins on the counting machine that are the rejects". Unlike the tellers, he said sure, and handed me the bowl full. A key, some washers, a mexican something, some religious medalian, a couple dollars in canaidan (whish I force a co-worker to buy for 60 cents on the C-dollar), and 9 steel pennies. They were destined to be thrown in the trash with the rest of the rejects, before I saved them.

Found my first one yesterday ... 1943-P. Probably in F/VF condition: pretty decent. I was psyched! I've been sorting 2 rolls a day for probably about 8 months now and this is really my first notable find.

I went back to the dump bank and asked them for the rejects in the counting machien tray, and again, I got several steel pennies.

Just noticed this thread so here are my results for the year.

1943 - 1 From the coin counter reject jar at a credit union I get bags from.
1943S - 2 One from a String roll, one from a bag.

That's it so far.

Got one off the magnet today also. Very little wear, but unfortunately a couple of rust spots. Got it soaking in some diet coke to see what removes easily.

My first 1943 roll searching, no rust, neat find. I may have found one before, but don't remember.. I bought a roll of mixed dates about a year ago and don't remember finding any since.
