Here's a 1754 British farthing. Seen better days, but hey, this coin was probably bent a lotta years ago... and because of that it still has some detail left! I will take what I can get!
Wouldn't mind seeing those 1754 coins from Country and SpacemanX before we move on... At this point, every coin deserves its day in the spotlight!!!

Thanks, guys. Introducing, the 260-year-old twins from London! Consider this: Country's farthing and mine started out identical: minted at the same time, in the same place, looking exactly the same. Then over the next two-and-a-half centuries, they both made it across an ocean, possibly in the pocket of a patriot. And one (decent one) made its way to rest in Virginia while the other one (beat all to heck) made it to Illinois. I guess it had a rough time on the trail to the midwest. And it wasn't until the magic of the internet that they were reunited, here on this very page! Separated at birth, indeed!

Just noticed a farthing die variety. Yours has a Crosset 4, and mine has a normal 4. This reminds me of the US Half Cents of 1804. Interesting!
