1875 charter note

i aquired a 1875 First National Bank of Canton Charter note the other day. are they pretty collectible? im trying to post pics but having trouble doing so

Denomination? Condition? Inquiring minds want to know.

Guides I use are "National Bank Notes" sixth edition, and "United States Paper Money" second edition.

its a $5 note, i would say a 15 to 20. no tears or pin holes. its a nice note

Based on that information, the note could be valued between $1400 and $3500. Please note that there were two banks in Canton, Ohio, that are listed. First National Bank of Canton, and City National Bank of Canton. Each has it's own population of Charter Bank Notes. Also, certian signature pairings can increase the value due to the rarity.

That changes things a bit. At the low end, about 500 might be expected. The high end is about the same as my previous post. The issuing bank should be First National Bank of Canton. Sorry about the mixup.

Collector value for banknotes can vary widely from one sale to the next, which is why I gave you a wide range in probable value. Please have at least a few professionals examine the note. They can give you a better idea of the value than I can from my recliner in western Oregon.
