Dang; there was a penny in my bag of half dollars

There was a penny mixed in with the bag of $500 in halfs I picked up from the bank. I got 2 or 3 car wash tokens, a couple Mexican coins, 2 40%, and an 1846 small date penny in very good condition.

What does a 1846 small date penny look like?

the penny is smaller than a half dollar, closer to a quarter in size; copper; picture of liberty with braded hair on the front. The "small" date has the 6 in 1846 at a small angle to the other numbers. On the back side is "One Cent" in the middle of a wreath, with United States of America around the outer edge. All the letters in "Liberty" are readable in Liberty's headband, but they are worn. If I can remember how to post a picture, I will.

Sounds like an 1846 Large cent with it being a small date variety.

Cool find. I would pay $0.50 for that penny any day of the week
