Just checking the market. I don't see a lot of Morgans for sale. Looks like e-bay sells them for around $30.

What do you guys think a decent price is for (really pretty) common date morgans.

$27 is probably the low average.

Here in the middle Mid-west, the going rate is $26. At that price (dealer has likely bought them at $18 or less each) you'll have an opportunity to pick. As always, though, be careful and aware there are many cleaned coins out there. Know what you're buying and you won't be disappointed at these prices.

All of the coin auctions I have been to in the last month have been outrageous!!! The bidding starts at $32-34 and commons regularly go for $40+ . I can't afford to buy ANY at the price.

Yesterday one of my young banksters stopped me on the way out after a dump and asked "do you do silver too?"

He's got a 1925 Peace dollar, wants to sell it. Didn't want to completely low-ball him because I need to keep him on my good side, but didn't want to pay a premium, so I struggled for a second - knowing full-weight spot is 27ish, and they are usually going for a premium over that. Offered him $25. Glad to know that's normal but on the low side of normal.

Rednecks around here like them for $30 if you are at an auction. If I can get them for under $30, I bid on them. A couple months ago, I 3 0f them for $22 each.

They do seem to be on the high side...but where else can I go to get them? eBay usually is $3-7 over spot.... I imagine coin shows are just as high as I don't see dealers selling them for less than silver price and pawn shops don't even want to sell me silver. No Joke!!!

They are 33 dollars and then another 3-5 to ship. I wish they were closer to 27 dollars.

I normally pay $1 over spot for common Morgans. I resell them for a few over that. I dont mark them up much. I work with gold buyers and other buyers. I get them in all the time. I fill peoples wtb lists when I get them. Im always talking to buyers and sellers looking to make matches.

What would you guys consider a "back the truck up" price for peace or morgans? My LCS is selling peace dollars at 22,m which is the lowest I've seen.

There have been recent sales in quantity here for $20 each. (More than I personally want to pay, but to each his own.)

I've been getting peace dollars for $17 and my coin club auction is that a good deal or am I overpaying?

I would say that's a pretty good deal. I haven't seen them much cheaper than $19-20

I think a $17, problem free, peace dollar would sell here in a matter of minutes.
