So then if these were released in Alaska the mint should not be selling these coins for a premium as they are not nifc coins! Or could the 5 million released in Alaska make the other coins that were not released worth some money.

I have lost faith in the US Mint after so many of these types of "gimmicks" that are not serving the collectors or the public. That news article is also extremely poor reporting. Read the description page on the Mint website, "These 2020 Native American $1 Coins with circulating finishes have never been placed into circulation. They were minted at the Denver and Philadelphia Mints." Hmmm - says right there NEVER have been placed in circulation.
