I'm guessing you do not sort much, or maybe not at all. If you were to go on a sorting binge, you would probably generate plenty of 2023 coins. I have seen a bunch of 2023 pennies including a few yesterday. I have probably seen 2023 nickels as well, but I sort FAST and I do not check dates on the modern Jefferson heads. Same thing with shield pennies. For example, u could have a 2023 penny that says FU on it and I would possibly miss it. But I do wish you well in your pursuit of 2023 coins.

On my Coinstar run today I got three 2023-D coins - penny, quarter and my first dime. All have been found but with hockey playoffs going full steam, it felt like a hat trick.

My first 2023-D nickel found today in my change jar that I empty weekly, so the actual discovery date may be a bit earlier.

Well I just got my first 2023 coins. 8 Bessie Coleman D quarters, only 2 and a half months behind coindood! I may not score a first to find this year. Thanks go out to the gal at my local bank who saved them for me.

Accidentally bought and opened an entire roll of 2023 nickels. Of no use to me except to roll back up and exchange for another roll or hiney wipes

Got my first Edith K quarter today, and surprise! It's a P-mint. Still haven't found a P-mint AM Wong or Bessie yet. Go figure.

"P before D" has never happened to me with quarters AFAIK, but my records are pretty spotty since the state quarter program began in 1999.

coindood. Usually the same thing for me in Minnesota. I dont know how distribution works but there have been a few issues where I have found LOTS of P-mint quarters before finding a D-mint. I found the Edith K. P-mint about a month ago and still havent found another one of either mint. That coin must have been one that came from out east. I search half dollars and sort them by date and mint mark. There are a couple dates where I find more P mints than D mints, but the majority of the dates have way more D mint marks.

Looks like the last 2 years the halves weren’t discovered until September/October. That’s surprisingly late IMHO.

Lol .my chances of a ,P, penny are slim. Heck, until you guys corrected me, I thought the 76P was ,rare. As I get 10-12d:1p.

I have gotten lots of 2023 cents, and probably a few of them were 2023-P. I ignore them because I'm really only interested in 1981 and older. I might purposely buy a few BRAND NEW 2023 rolls just to see if they are P or D rolls.
