I enjoy seeing where and when each coin has been found first, so I started another thread for 2024. Post where and when you find them and I will try to put date and finder in this first post. If you don't mind it might be interesting to know what city or at least what part of the country the coin was found in.

It looks like TCO was the first to find a 2023 coin on 01-28-23, who will be the first to find a 2024 coin????? They should be showing up soon!

They take awhile to get to Minnesota too. My first 2023 was on 05-12-23. The Philly coins take a long time, still havent seen a 2023-P dime and still need 3 of the 5 quarters from Philadelphia.

I'm picking up 2 boxes of Lincolns on Wed...you'll know a minute after I find one

Wow- Friday the 16th I went to the bank and made it a point to purposely say I didn’t want Uncirculated rolls because I want to find coppers. Yet, in just 2 rolls of random cents there were 3 of the 2024-D cents.

I checked for any obvious errors and didn’t see any double dies, missing letters, etc.

Are these the VERY FIRST 2024’s found by anyone on this site? Normally I don’t see anything til April-May.

Honors this year for the first reported 2024 coin go to Recyclersteve! It looks like the last time you had a first to find was in 2021. Keep looking, they should be out there!

Well pooee. I bought 6 bags of pennies ,last month. Going to get some tomorrow.

Guess what I just found. 2024d. So this happened last year also. It was in my possession, but I had not gotten to it yet.
