No I’m not normally in the habit of thanking someone for something they said well over a year later, but I REALLY APPRECIATE the details of a search that consisted of a whopping 630,000 coins! I just wish I’d seen it earlier. My fault, but it is still really good info!!!!

Please note that ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- sometimes substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) as well.

Doing the math, 1:1000 means one out of 25 rolls. I'm not sure what he meant by a few years back (probably late teens) , but my results from the early teens were much better than that. I regret not harvesting more rolls back then.

Keeping an eye on this thread.

Went thru my Coinstar totals since 2016 and the only find that fits is a 1953 dime a couple of years ago.

Here's some stats I cobbled together from 35+ years of casino hunting (dates found only, no totals):

Cents

G V - 1920, 1929, 1932

G VI - 1937, 1938, 1939, 1940, 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1947 ML, 1948, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952

E II - 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959

Nickels

G VI - 1943

I know it has been almost 1-1/2 years since this comment, but I AM STILL BLOWN AWAY by it. Only 1 in 100k coins being King George V is amazing!

Let me throw this out for what it’s worth. Canada’s population is 38 million. Let’s say only 1 person in 100,000 COLLECTS Geo. V coins. Keep in mind, I want to rule out those who buy copper, nickel and silver in general. I want to only count those who will pay a fair premium for Geo. V because they are hard to find. I am also ruling out those who inherited someone else’s collection. I’m only talking serious Geo. V collectors. If there are 380 in the entire country, that would be 1 in 100k. Let that sink in!

Every once in awhile King George still makes appearances. To be more specific:
1938, 1944, 1947, and 1950 - all pennies from rolls opened this month.

Pulled three King George pennies this morning out of bwr's, all in solid VG-F condition. The years were 1946 and 1950 (2x). Also Pulled a 1955 queen out of the same batch.

1955 early queen nickel. My first pre 1960 nickel since Halloween. I know this coin isn't worth much, but it's so cool to hit one as an American CRH

$100. A 41 kg penny.

2-5
+2-8

Had k.g. but did not record the year.
At the point $1300 pennies sorted this year.

Lol and being in Arizona, where I would expect the odds to be significantly higher.

Though that said. There are a fair amount of snowbirds that die off year winter. Who is going to transport coins ,home. Into the bank or coinstar.
