CANADA Has Opened the Door to US Citizens

Postby Know Common Cents » Sat Oct 08, 2022 11:52 am

FINALLY---Those of us living within driving or flying distance of the Canadian border can now easily cross over into Canada. No more COVID testing or quarantine requirements. No more ArriveCan nonsense to complete and show along with your US Passport or other acceptable identification.

Lack of US citizens traveling in Canada (and, of course, spending money) has wounded the Canadian economy. Going to take awhile for everyone to realize that the entry requirements have been returned to a much more favorable climate for tourism.

Thanks for sharing. Sadly, I regularly visited our northern neighbors few times a year. I will have to wipe the dust off my drawer of Canadian currency and give it to someone who wants to visit. I have lost my interest in going.

When I crossed last week the American officer asked my vaccination status. The Canadian one did not ask at all. The US closed its border to Canadians for well over a year. It goes both ways and its not the Canadians don’t want Americans to visit.

I remember in the early 1980’s when it was MUCH MORE LIBERAL. To go southbound from Vancouver to Seattle you didn’t even get stopped. You merely saw a sign welcoming you to a new country as you drove at freeway speeds.
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

Please note that ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- sometimes substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) as well.

Last crossing southbound there were reader board signs saying the US still requires vaccination.
