What did I bid on? What did I win? What did I sell for that matter? Further research is required..... :geek:

MAY KSA stuff

Postby uthminsta » Tue Apr 15, 2014 2:50 pm

A lot of format changes from last month. Good or bad?
A lot more action that in previous months. Good or awesome?
At least one idea (buy-it-now in the KSA) that has been brought up as well. Opinions? Vote?
There's a lot to discuss, so why wait until a few days before the next auction begins?
What are your thoughts on how it went?

Plus, I have an item for folks to consider. I would like to hear your thoughts on it, too... :)

World coins really played a big part in the April KSA. I was glad for that, because I have always been a world coin guy.

My friend Tom is building a world type set (sort of). Once he has gone through my country-type-trays (shown below) and pulled what he still needs, they will be offered up as a single auction lot in next month's KSA. Perhaps if the interest in "60 coins from 60 countries" has been played out, there will be more interest if there are a few hundred coins, of all different types, from about 100 countries. That's not what you usually get when you buy several pounds of world coins...

Check out the newly refilled trays, now representing 105 possible countries:

The auctions have never been so good.

How about a real time clock, with seconds ?

This is the only item that seems to always bite me, and I loose

i like the way the auctions went, also loved how many there was. IMO i dont think we need a buy it now, i think we should leave that under the (buy) section. just my 2 cents

I like the idea of a clock with seconds too.
I don't know about the buy it nows. Maybe if it was like e-bay with a regular auction starting at a low price, and a higher buy it now price on the same item. That could be interesting.

I don't like the idea of BIN in the KSA, Keep BIN in the BIN forum.

Suggestion... if it does become part of the KSA, at least have all BIN options expire a few hours before the actual frenzy of final bidding. There's already enough going on at three minute intervals.

I also like the clock idea. By having a small omnipresent clock in the page corner the sniper bids will increase.

The top left corner of the index page shows the official forum time when you load the page, but it does not show seconds nor does it update live. Everybody has had the exact some resource since we started the KSAs a few years ago. A live clock is not practical in our current hosting environment and would just make page load times worse during the KSAs. It might be possible if I am able to move Realcent where I would like to move it, but it will take some time to get there since I have real jobs to keep up with too.

May is here, what shall we do?

Postby fb101 » Wed May 07, 2014 12:31 pm

I've got a few items I may put up this month, steelies, buffaloes, a fair condition twenty dollar bill with a serial number under 7000. I wonder if anybody is interested in S nickels or S cents?

So anybody have anything else interesting to put up? Last month was like 5 pages long.

Let's keep all the KSA discussion in one place. Please merge with the thread that is linked in the banner.

(One less thread for me to unsticky/move/resticky/change the link for every month ;) )

Oops. That's the before picture. I will have the "after" picture up on the auction page itself. Thanks for the vote of confidence! Now I gotta figure out what starting price to put on it, and what else to list!!! I don't think I can do 100 auctions like Rob, but I have a few more ideas up my short sleeve.
