Fake Forever Stamps

Fake Forever Stamps

Postby natsb88 » Sat Aug 17, 2019 2:31 pm

Bought some discounted Forever stamps on eBay. I'm always skeptical of sellers with lots of cheap Forever stamps. Immediately checked them under shortwave UV and there's no glow. Last photo shows these compared to a cancelled genuine stamp under shortwave UV. I sent the photos to an editor at Scott and he confirmed they know of three counterfeit varieties of these 2018 flags (Scott 5262) that will be in their 2020 Scott U.S. Specialized Catalog. I did a little research before buying and knew of fake fireworks flag coils, Diwali sheets, and some other flag books, but I did not see these 2018 flag books posted anywhere. They have the microprinted USPS but not the UV tagging.

Wow- this is surprising to me.
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

Please note that ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- sometimes substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) as well.
