Copper Percentages per roll

Hi Everyone -

What are your copper percentages in your areas? I average 10-12 copper cents per roll. Lately it's been about 8 though. Seems like copper cents are slowly disappearing from circulation.

I'm in the eastern panhandle of WV I've always done really well with copper results.

When I was screwing around with Chinese comparitors, my percentage was 27.5. When I got a Ryedale it went up to 29.7%. When I bought a second comparitor and rigged up an automatic dual sorting process, it went up again to 30.4%.

I just went through $25 in plastic-wrapped cents and came up with $5.31 or 21.24%. Plus a few 59's & 1968-74 S's & 13 wheats, 6 of which are pre-1940s. I'm jealous of those averaging 25-30%, for me 20% is a dang good box!

On an unrelated note, I just sold 6 silver eagles on ebay, and I'm thinking of getting a box of roosies to hunt through with the proceeds.

I wish I could say precisely. I've been keeping roll-by-roll track of my sortings with a spreadsheet, but I've been finding those errors in my hand-checking :( and I can't trace them to specific rolls.

It would have made for a bunch of neat spread graphs had I been accurate enough.

Do it! The last 3 weeks I've found 18 silver dimes. Halves are skunks around here. My dimes average 2 per box.

By the way, I get +/-30% around here on rolls, a little less on bags, but it is worth it w/ the less hassle of bags.
Happy sorting! :)

Welcome aboard! I'm also in So Cal and getting around 18% so that's averaging 9 coppers per roll. I have sorted over 2,500 rolls so far and just the other day found my first sold copper roll in a batch of CWRs I had picked up. Wish I could find more like that.

I have been averaging 30% + here in N.W. Ohio. I just got some rolls from Detroit area yesterday, and I will report back as soon as I sort them.

All the best...Bob.

30% or so in central New England. I need to run my next batch through the scan coin to confirm that, but out of my 8 box weekly order I end up with about 2 x $70 dumps on average.
