Need help to ID a coin

Not sure if this belongs in this forum or not (also posted in obsolete world coins so please move or delete this post if need be), but I wanted to get some thoughts on a strange coin I found in a penny roll this morning. Looks like something a person metal detecting might find. The first picture is the obverse and reverse from my digital camera, and the second picture is a high resolution scan of the obverse and reverse. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nick

Just a quick look at it I would say it is Roman or Greek empire. I would lean more to the Roman empire, but I can't say for sure.

If you look at the text on the outside of the coin they are the same, so it's definitely Roman... It doesn't look like they go for very high prices, I would keep it as a conversation piece myself.

Could also be fake. In Ephesus I was offered fake Roman coins that looked really old. One guy told me they feed the coins to animals and then sift them out of the discharge to give the coins a well used beat up look. Not sure if that is how the destressing is really done, but the coins sure looked old.
