500 lbs * 150/lb = 75000 cents

1200/75000 = 1.6 cents each

definately a fair price, but i think you could find them cheaper...

i pay exactly 1 cent each for mine ! :)

and im holding onto all of mine for a while longer

youre not going to find coppers for sale much under 1.5 each anymore ...

like i said your 500# for $1200 is not out of line by any means...

Now I know this doesn't work exactly but for the situation, it may be helpful.

Just like the stock market, there are buyers and sellers in the CPB market.

Just like in the stock market, you can do a market order or limit order.

Market would mean you sell or buy at whatever the going market rate is currently. (You just buy or sell no matter what you can get it for)

Limit order would mean you sell or buy based on what price YOU want to pay. (You just have to set what you are willing to pay)

The upside to market is you either sell or buy what you need right now, and you do not have to wait for the market to move to your set price.
The upside to limit is you will generaly get a better price.

This is made more complicated here because we don't have any actual large user market place. Unless you consider this forum the market.

You may be wonder what does this mean to you?

Well if you just wanna buy now, go-ahead and buy from that guy. Put throught the market order.
But if you have time to wait, set your limit on price, and wait till you find the right seller.

Current low end is 1.4 to 1.5 high end is 1.6 to 1.7
Hope this helped some, prob not. But I like to pretend it may have.

P.S. I need to stop making posts right before work... I rush and can't get it all in, sigh.

I like AlexTG's description.. though the market is not quite that fluid yet. The marketplace here is a great indicator of prices, and without that hefty eBay cut it is a better deal for both buyers and sellers. We even have our own feedback so you can get an indication of what kind of trading partner a fellow member is. $1200 for 500 pounds delivered is certainly not a bad price, but I think you can do slightly better here. If your door happens to be close enough to a major seller so that you can take shipping out of the equation it helps you get an even better deal. Where are you located at?

Interesting that a guy with the name "97guns" lives in California. One of the worst states for gun ownership. And here I sit in a shop with over 300 firearms. Class III dealer and all. Gotta love the Mighty-Mo, hehe.

The rate you are quoting isn't too bad. But I too think you could do better on here. I have a feeling someone in your area could help you out with cutting the shipping out of the picture. Good luck and keep us posted.

Well in that case I could skim 500 pounds off the top and deliver for $1150. Do you want them bagged or machine rolled?

What are the odds that the poster who is looking for a better deal just happens to live very close to a major sorter? This is why I'm so glad I stumbled across these boards. The information learned here in pricelss!
