Wheat Record

Postby Larkin » Mon Jan 10, 2011 12:53 pm

Opened a box Saturday night and got 34 wheat heads. What is the most wheats anyone has gotten from a $25.00 box?

Finally, I get to brag a little. About 2 years ago I picked up a box of hand rolled from an obscure bank and it yielded $14.66 face value in wheats, including about $4 in steel cents. That was fun.

I will be bragging in a day or so about my find to beat the band. I just have to go through them all first.

I don't keep records of what I find but if I had to guess I'd say about 25 in one box.

My record so far might be about 20. From a rolled box.

Record low might be 2 or 3.

If I remember correctly my best box was 72 wheaties and my 2nd best was around 22.

My best wheatie score was buying $94 in CWRs from a bank and finding 94 of the rolls were solid wheats...total of 4700 wheaties (all in 40-50s).
