Great box this evening

Postby bman » Mon Jan 17, 2011 1:11 am

I cracked open a box of cents and saw 3 wheats staring back at me and knew it would be a good box :D

Almost every roll had at least 1 wheat and some had 4 or 5, actually there were only 7 rolls that did NOT have any wheats.
I ended up with 105 wheaties, oldest was 1913 and the best coin was a 1927-S that I needed for my circulated roll set.

Also found was a 1936 Canadian King ans a cent from Bermuda? with a pig on it.

I didn't keep track of the copper percentage but I would guess it was over 50%

Happy hunting everybody, good boxes are out there. :D

Now that's what I'm talking about....GREAT box! You failed to mention if it was a Brinks, String, or cwr's. I'm messed up and didn't stock up for the long weekend...bummer! (What was I thinking?)

I had one on Friday that out $20 of CWR I had over 300 wheats, half were great and the 150 or so will need a good soaking in soa[ and water. Some rolls had over 20 wheats in them. I also found 7 dimes, 1950-1 pfennig, 1970 Bermuda penny, and a 1997 20 cent Singapore coin. My nickel box was great to, 3- 1938D's and 3 war nickels from $ 30 of nickels. Haven't had a night like in awhile.

My last box had one stinking wheat, 1941 and a canadian. Record low boz for me as far as wheats
although the copper was good.

I just got back from the bank with 50 CWR's, the 2 rolls I tested had 27% copper and one wheat.

If that holds it will be a very good box for me, 675 copper and 25 wheats. Probably my best.

Best so far is about 620 copper, low 20s in wheats. A very solid box itself.
