I have found quite a few UK pennies and now buying some mixed foreign I got a bucket full of them. Many are copper. Anyone tried sorting UK pennies? Anyone ever sold them?

I've sold a couple 10 pound lots of copper 1 and 2 pence for about 1.3 x melt. Post-decimal coins are easy enough to sort with a magnet.

I sorted out quite a few and sold them to Copper Cave but they have not been moving at the retail level so far as I can tell. I think the same 50 lbs have been sitting there for a long time. The purity and face value are both higher than US but its a knowledge and availability issue - its easier for most people to just save US pennies.

Ya that is what I'm thinking. I cleaned up a bunch of UK pence from coin lots and have a bunch to sort. Might as well keep the copper ones in a bag here rather than trying to take them to the UK. I seem to have sold you most of my UK stash pulled from circulation, but they keep accumulating here.

Only sold about 10 pounds this year. I need to drop my buy and sell prices.
