Curious as to how many are looking for this one.I turn over all of them and have spent a lot of time doing so.
Found some 1998 and 2000s but no longer look for those.Still looking for the 1999.
What is your opinion on the wide am's

I look for them; found very little in terms of numismastic pennies so far...

I found a 2004 Canadian Penny with a P... I think its worth 8 bucks or something...

I found a few 1998 and 2000's I look at all the cents for errors. A quick glance at most but the 1992,1992d for close AM's, 1983 for DDR, 1884 for double ear, and the 1998-2000 for Wide AM's

The Ryedale has pulled me away from it. I did claim 3-99WAMs durring my hand sorting days. Bman has found a few as well.

I do pretty much the same as appjoe but have yet to find any of the wide AMs 1998-2000.

Same here. I average one 98 or 2000 per $250 searched, but no 99WAM yet.

I check all of them, I've found (and sold) 5 or 6 now for at least $100 each. I just sold 81 of the 1998 & 2000 wide AM's for $1 each to one buyer. 8-)
I also check for 1972 & 1995 double-dies, 1960-D Re-punched mint marks and a few others.

I look at every coin that passes through my hands for any sort of error or variety that I might be able to see.

And, yes, I found one 1999 Wide AM. Have held a 1992 Close AM that was found by a guy here in my area. So, they are out there. I think it is just the luck of the draw though. So many of you have found many IHs yet I haven't found the first through my coin searches. Others are lucky in the error department while others aren't.

Enjoy your coin searches, everyone. :geek:

I check for various errors and varieties. I've got 2 99's. I gave away a few of the 98 and 00's I had as prizes in a contest here. Just found a sharp looking 98 wam in one of my last searches. It's hard to do because there are so many different things you can be looking for. I do know that this time of year...I look harder at each coin! It's too damn cold to do anything I like to do!

"It's hard to do because there are so many different things you can be looking for."

That discouraged me on looking for errors, now it would have to be something obvious.
Im no longer getting the loupe out. It just wasnt productive enough.
