There you go again! The first rule in shipping pennies....TAPE, TAPE, and more TAPE! And when you think you got enough tape on there.....TAPE some more!

How did you get a picture of Hoard's processing center? He must have poked a hole in one of those mint bags with the fork lift.

I broke a bag once getting it out of the trunk of my car. It looked very similar.

My biggest fear, carrying my halves out of the bank in a bag and it breaks in the parking lot and showers halves all over the place. Mind you, this isnt the nicest part of town either.... cool pic.

I carry my zincers back to the bank in canvas bags. I am always afraid I am going to slip on the ice in the parking lot and have 10,000 zincers rolling all over.

While I was stacking a ton of pennies on top of some others I managed to not align the legs right. When I set the skid down it teetered and than BAM!!! Pennies in a 30ft radius

Back in the Ryedale days I managed to drop a $50 canvas bag all over my front steps just as my neighbors were walking by.

CC: Great link. That set up looks a lot more complicated than it really is. Its simply a feeding system hooked to a converyor system hooked to a sorter. In the U.S Brinks has a machine, invented by them, called the Super Sorter. It is an amazing machine that can do almost anything. Sad thing is that its not for sale to anyone :(

I use industrail equipment now. A lot of time and money was spent finding the best machines to sort copper with. I consider this a trade secret. :)

Just out of curiosity, how much can your machines sort in an hour?

awesome pic.

the day before christmas break, my students had been curious about my penny sorting, so i brought in 2 boxes for the class to go through during their period.

at the end of the day, i had two coffee cans. i had one kid carry them out to my car, and all i hear is 'shhhhittt!!!'

i look out, and $40 worth of zincs are on the snowy ground. i guess at least they didn't get mixed haha. i took a pretty awesome pic of him picking them up (i did help, but the pic was too funny to not take) and would post it, but he's young and HIPAA laws and all...

Back in my "pre-collecting" days... I managed to drop a 5 gallon bucket topped off out in the front yard of my church when the handle broke! I was walking FAST too so it went pretty far! Unfortunately I was there alone and it was raining (hence why I was walking fast)! I'll explain this further on my post "alternative collection methods" I'm going to write up... if your interested in the story of why I was leaving my church with a 5 gallon bucket of change.
