if there was glue (or some other substance) the impression (of the coin in contact with it) has embossed the substance, not a contact strike (it's a reverse impression, not a doubled out of alignment strike)

Posted: Sat Dec 13, 2014 6:53 pmI see quite a few with added images from glue and similar substances. Since this cent is well circulated, it would not hurt to take water to it, if it is a water soluble substance, the secondary image will begin to cloud. Most other adhesive substances will cloud, and eventuall dissolve, with introduction of acetone. I even use old dental tools to remove some foreign substances from coins.
