GRRR. THis happened last year also. around valentines day. I got a box to sort while selling flowers and get outside and find .... all new.
any one on here want them???

14 or 15? The fourteens are pretty much old news at this point. The fifteens would bring good money from ebay speculators...especially being this early in the new year.
The thing about these boxes (String, Loomis, etc) is that they're almost never 100% new coin. They could be, but most of the ones I've opened contain 20 to 40 coins of different years. Not the same as buying rolls or bags from the Mint.

Yeah the armored company such as Brinks probably dumped a brand new 3k FV bag of mint pennies into their rolling machine, which may have had some residual older pennies in it on the conveyor belt or in the hopper, that is my guess with boxes like that.

i remember getting shiny memorial boxes, was mad then too. wish i hadnt returned them!
