Any Canadian hoarders looking to sell?

Postby Copper » Mon Feb 07, 2011 11:14 pm

I am in Ontario Canada, and would like to continue adding to my collection, by purchasing sorted copper cents. The trouble is, I cannot import coin from the US, so I am checking if there are any Canadians selling.

I will be looking to sell some of my stash at some point in the future.
I just got into the hoarding of copper pennies a month back or so and I am probably going to keep the first $100 face value for myself.
After that I am going to look to sell some of what I sort.

I am currently located in Surrey, BC.

What are you looking to buy? 1942- 1977? 1982-1996?? Pre 1982 US? All of the above?

Cheers..

If finding a large amount of Ca copper is hard to do. You can always buy U.S copper and have it stored in the U.S.

I would consider selling. I sort by weight for pennies up to 1996, as well as nickels.

Pardon my ignorance on this topic. Please enlighten me on it. What (if any) legal restrictions are there on shipping U.S. and Canadian circulating coinage between borders?
Is there a restriction U.S. citizens shipping coinage to Canada? Likewise is there a restriction on Canadians sending coinage to the U.S.?

Anyone can ship Canadian coins out of the country. No one is is supposed to ship US 1 cent and 5 cent coins out of the US (see sticky thread at top of this forum).

JD, thanks for the heads up.

So you can only carry or ship up to $25 face value out of the U.S. in 1 and 5 cents legally?

While legally, you are not to ship U.S. 1 and 5 cents outside of the United States , you can ship Canadian coins to Canada, no problem?

That sound right?
