Just got back from vacationing in Vermont for a week. Had a blast with the family but while I was there, 5 of the 7days I went to a different bank and got $10 in pennies. First observation - only one bank questioned if I had an account. Even when I said 'no', teller still shrugged and handed me the pennies. As it turns out, my searching was way more fruitful than it has been recently for me here at home in south-western Virginia.

Copper percent - just shy of 28% (I am below 20% at home).
Wheats - searched $50 of pennies found 46 wheats including a 1910 and 1917.
Canadian - 49 Canadian including a 1941 George VI

And most of all, family dug in to help. We all sat at the table having fun sorting.

Good times.

Where did you go in Vermont? I have been researching vacation spots there. Want to try Bennington area as it seems quaint and lodging seems affordable?

i was born and raised in enosburg. spent 42 years there before traveling for 7 years. then settleting down again, in az.

lol, we do not consider bennington part of vermont.. as it borders new york. and has much closer ties to ny and mass.

same said for brattleboro and new hampshire. and mass.

my town associated more with quebec.

as for the c oins... as a kid , if we went to the store half the coins were canadian.
