Strange Inheritance

I have a strange inheritance. My uncle passed away in the 70's. He spent the better part of his life finding, collecting, and cataloguing Lincoln-error pennies. Most pennies are in a sleeve (some have slipped out), and he wrote on each sleeve a description of the error. Here are some examples of the descriptions he wrote:
• "1953 Double D West Rare"
• "60 Lg Date wobbly zero"
• "Bottom Vertical of last 4 thin & slanted"
• "53/BU states "LDERTY."
This collection has not been looked at by anyone. I have a friend on RealCents (Elcid69) that has looked at a handful of these, and I probably have about 1000 of these pennies. He suggested that I join the forum to see if there is anyone that could help me understand the significance of this inheritance.

Welcome to the forum.

The following listed below is a guide that does not buy or sell, so take the prices they list with a grain of salt. I suggest you only use this to help identify what you might have versus focusing only on the prices.

Error Coin Price Guide with Mint Error Photo Descriptions

Some of what you likely have would be considered minor mint errors and not listed.

The Lincoln cent resource is a great site for info on errors and varieties. http://lincolncentresource.com/index.html
