My bet is that only a few are found and redeemed. After all its only "a penny".

I wonder if a Coinstar machine would accept one of these pennies. I guess that depends on the composition, which may be a secret to prevent counterfeiting.
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

Please note that ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- sometimes substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) as well.

It would be interesting to hear the conversation if a Lucky Penny finder bumped into a Pokemon Go player.

I wonder if any of these were found by homeless people or others who have no idea that they are really worth $1,000. They could just think it is some kind of gimmicky play money type thing.
