odd older box

Postby cwgii » Mon Mar 27, 2017 5:29 pm

anyone that has been on here awhile , knows there are regional differences. i have the lowest cu% in the country here in tucson.

well along with those ''mint'' coins i was offered. there was 88$ of pennies. i did 20 $ the last two days. odd in that the newest coin was 2007.

next odd, 20 and 30 canadians, when i normally get 1-3.

next , there was more ''p'' than d. of the 1975-81.

so i am going to guess this man was from mn, wis, mich, or maybe ny/vt/nh.

a snowbird that brought his ''northern';; boxes with him.

I would say not from Minnesota. I get way more D than P cents. I would guess ny/vt/nh.

Definitely an unusual box. Your typical box in Arizona is probably a lot like mine in California with more D's than P's, very few Canadian, and why too many zincs. My guess is that someone in John's neck of the woods hauled his bucket of pennies with him when he retired and moved to the warmer climate only to have his widow dump them all the first chance she had.

Several odd boxes the past 2 weeks. I have been getting 2 to 3 times as many 1930's wheats as 40's and 50's? 1 box had 34 from 30's and only 4 from 40's and 50's.

this was not a current box, it was in some grandpas stash
2007 were all bright and shiney , as they were the newest in the box.

When I lived in Maine I was getting about 35% copper and sometimes up to 25% Canadian.
