Are Canadians buying boxes of unsearched pennies for this much?

You might want to send a private message to JadeDragon, who is in the Vancouver area, and is one of the moderators on this site. Could that be him selling the pennies? I don't know.
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

Please note that ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- sometimes substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) as well.

I did think about him, although I thought he might live south of the city, closer to the border. I think he has a US P.O. box and bank account and crosses the border frequently. It is possible it's him.

Are those prices for all pennies or just the copper ones? And is there still a market for them?

I'm wondering the same thing- was that for coppers or all pennies lumped together? Also, what about the Farewell Cents (2012)- is there much of a market for them?

This was mainly for 1960-2012 mix unsorted and loose. I believe that there is still a market for them but closing fast as with anything...when there is no supply then the demand dries out especially when you are talking about hobbies.

The farewells were mixed in. Only in special rolls .... they do bring a premium.

Would take me years to sort through 36,000 pennies. The neck and eye strain would be beyond belief!

Nice! I would take a sample from each bag, maybe 100 coins, and try to see if I get any varieties or if any coins have MS-65 potential.

Good idea. I only opened that one bag. The other bags have their RCM seals intact. I searched Ebay and I could not find any Canadian pennies (post 1945) that have been graded by PCGS. I did see a few by NGC, but not many.

Here they are...

Checked each one for errors????

If anyone had anywhere near 36,000 of them they wouldn't be rare or worth nearly as much money.

I would slowly sell them through different avenues. Yes it would lower the price. Still would hold some value if he didn't dump them all at once. Would love to see a picture of one of the cons.
