Roll Crimper?

Postby Morsecode » Wed Feb 07, 2024 6:07 pm

Am I the only person who never knew these existed? $5 at N.F. String & Sons

I bought a load of cent boxes from them tonight. Same ones I see around these parts when I buy coin at the bank. Only a buck a box with shipping. It'll be nice to have new undented storage boxes for a change

Now we know how all those ebay sellers of 'original, unsearched bank rolls' get those nice rolled paper ends.

But I may have a need for one these if I decide to continue copper mining. The loss of Penny Arcades makes getting rid of zincs a real roadblock. I imagine more of my branches (who don't have coin counters) would be willing to take rolled coin from a customer.

The penny crimper does cents on one side and nickels on the flip side. Another crimper does dimes and quarters. Not sure if they have one for half dollars.

I just use my thumb.

I can't imagine rolling zincs just to return them. That's a lot of work. Find a bank or credit union that will take them loose.

Roll crimpers have been around for decades. Somewhere in one of these moving boxes I have one I picked up in the late 1970s. I guess you folks are a little late for the party.

Time for more coffee.

Did anyone in California (or elsewhere) buy any of Hoard’s coin machines?
