Checked today and found out that the electroplating lab at work has a barrel of them that they haven't used in 15 years because they now use bars. Unfortunately I love my job too much to think about borrowing some of them. I did tell the mgr to let me know if they ever surplus them.

Coins of known and verifiable purity and weight (via the RCM) are more desirable than "pellets" methinks :?:

I started 5 months ago. I sort 100 dollars per week, with 10-12% nickel content, I was able to get to the 100 pounds point.

I'm in the same boat as Roadrunner; however, it is not for lack of trying. I save every one I come across. They are just very scarce here in Central Florida.

Enjoy your coin searches, everyone. :geek:

100+ lbs.

I have been out of the game for awhile because my daughter came down with croop, then I got the flu. I think the Canadian .999 nickel is the best.

And obviously now the copper cave appears to be well stocked with nickels

It seems like a lot of people go there to buy nickel in one and five pound bags.

do you guys think that the "ugly queens" would sell the same down the road as pristine 999 nicks? kinda like how tarnished silver sells at about the same price as shiny silver?

edit: down the road if nickel explodes of course...

i picked up 1.5 pounds of french francs and canadian nickels for 6.00.
6.50FV on the canadian, with the balance being 1 franc and 1/2 francs.

For about $14 worth of metal, I think I did pretty good :)
