roll searching tonight

Postby daviscfad » Tue Sep 15, 2015 10:11 pm

so i have been doing some roll searching tonight.. windows up and nice breeze coming in.. i actually picked up a box of customer wrapped coin along with a box of nf string.. i went through the customer wrapped box first.. of course you got the guy trying to sneak a nickel in by adding a penny in the boxx. then i get the honest guy who cuts the roll short 10 cents so he throws a dime in... ALl in all i found 1 buffalo and some pretty nice higher grade nickels.. handful of pre 64's.. I noticed when i go through the fed wrapped box that i have a few rolls showing buffalos.. I said now thats cool.. so amongst waiting i decided to open a roll.. it yielded 4 buffs and a 1942 d.. I was like wow  I then say let me get a random roll, this time its 5 buffs, 1 1943 war nickel, 2 1940s nickels, and a 1950 nicke :o l.. i just stopped right there and figured i would share.. I have always had good luck with nickels and sometimes wonder why i dont sort them more

Any Buffalos with dates? If so, which ones?
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

Please note that ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- sometimes substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) as well.

Wow, I sorted >100 boxes of nickels and never saw such a score - must've been another visit by Thogey's widow!

Odd thread to resurrect! Not educational so much! But a nice 'fish story' to relive!

What a sweeet box!
