Liberty V nickels

Postby twentybux » Thu Sep 23, 2010 10:27 pm

Taking a break from the pennies and halves for a little bit. I hear you guys talking about finding war nicks and buffs but I have had no luck with either. I have been hitting Liberty V's. My first box I found three (1902, 1905 and I believe 1912). Just wonder how "normal" this is. On my second box of nicks with no luck on anything.

Not normal. Beginners luck I'd say. I would bet there are some long term nickel sorters who never found one.Average should be around 1 wn a box, buff every 2-3. Sometimes you get lucky and hit some hot boxes. But your not going to get rich doing it. I kept all the pre 60 nicks and have a box of them put away. Good thing about nicks is you can't lose with them. Contuinued sucess, hope you find a herd of V's

Hey, I'll take beginner's luck every day of the week and twice on Sunday! Yeah, just didn't seem quite right looking through the first roll in that first box and finding the 1902 V. Man, hope this abnormality continues! Thanks guys!
