Hoarding all nickels is a good answer, as the dude pointed out. However it also depends on your motivation for hoarding nickels. For example, if you want to branch out, I recommend considering pre-1982 Canadian nickels because they contain .999 nickel vs. the US nickel with is 25% nickel. However, if you want to hoard because the composition of the US nickel will likely change, then hoard the US nickel. There a couple of good sources on this site that sell nickels. Check them out.

I sort the pre 1982 Canadian nickels, I'm sorting to make rolls of 1938 to 1962 and 1971 and of course any Buffs and war nickels.

That's it????? I would've guessed 20 at least. Maybe I'll crack open a $100 box and report what I find

I would hold them all except the new steel Canadian nickels.
