Ike Dollar for a dollar

Postby lewbo » Thu Oct 07, 2010 10:58 pm

Saw this listing on ebay. Same guy that some time runs silver dimes for a buck. This one you get a Ike dollar for a dollar with free shipping. Listing mentions a $2.95 shipping fee, but I emailed the seller and he verifed free shipping. He also said limit of 1 per customer, listing says something different, but no need to press my luck. I used my ebay bucks got it for 50 cents plus 3% to Mr. Rebates. Here is the link.

not sure I understand why they are doing this? His post count is up...seems that they have the biz so what is up...is it a promo? they are losing out on postage ? maybe they have so much profit they will give them out for free next time. Someone brought in to my local bank a pile of IKES...so I traded for them.....

This guy is trying to build back up his feedback score, as he's had 26 negatives in the last 30 days!
So for the price of a 1st class letter, he can buy some positive feedback...pretty cheap actually....
I'd be scared to death to make a serious purchase from him!

This is a feedback gimmick used just like selling a books of brand new postage stamps back of face value.

I understand the feedback gimmick, can't rid himself of the negative feedback though...even if he got all positve on the 300 IKE dollars it would still read 26 negs if not a few more....I put out the other night for a tip a handful of IKE's and my dinner partners gathered them all up and split them between themselves  I don't think they had seen IKE's before the way they acted...the waiter got FRN's.

This guy always runs auctions like that. Normally about once a month he has silver dimes for $1 and free shipping.

Bought from this guy and got my Ike. Good looking '74. If you look at the first post on this topic and click on it you will see that this guy sold 523 Ikes this last round. That's alot of big old coins!
