The price spike today was most likely caused by short covering.

Ordered ASEs while spot was $14.78. paid with credit card and ended up paying $18.10 each including shipping. Should also get 5% back for paying online with discover but am happy with this price no matter what. Holding for the long term.

I just backed the truck up so silver should drop another $1 by morning.

Was ordering 10oz bars on provident. Within 20 minutes of me making my decision every single 10oz bar under $165 sold out or is now back ordered! $159.60 per 10oz.

SD Bullion showing a ton of "out of stock" messages on silver products. Provident the same. Even APMEX showing some but APMEX still has some high (or at least higher) premiums. Will pull the trigger on something soon.

Even the Swiss have given up now. Shame

Keep stacking.

I thought I noticed that Ag was down about .60 on Friday (after hours trading I believe) to about 15.55 to 15.60. But this decline starts at 16.10 or so. I think this decline started on Friday (very light trading BTW) and is being extended to Asian trading tonight.

Is there any news that could justify this collapse or is this just a series of inexplicably large sell orders?

The physical bullion at the LCS's is going to be nonexistent this week. :x

So here's how it goes for a guy like me with a mortgage and 2 kids. Budget is tight and I had just bought some silver from SDBullion a couple weeks ago. So I see silver tanking this eve after the Swiss gold vote and I see what you guys are saying about availability here. So I go through the house scraping together my spare FRNs, I rolled $12.50 in coins (nothing of note), I pull next weeks gas money and come up with $101. Quickly went to sdbullion and Provident in side by side screens to compare prices. Neither one of them has anything available that I usually buy! No Eagles, no maple leafs no philharmonics. I finally found Mexican Libertads and bought 5 of them from Provident. Left me with a little money for lunch one day this week.............

This is how it goes. Doing what I can.

Continue stacking, boys and girls.

Don't believe all the "out of stock" claims. That term is often used by dealers who have stock for sale, but maybe they paid 13x face and don't want to sell it at the current market price. If you went and offered to pay even 18-20x face, I imagine you could get everything you are looking for, even though you might have to contact several dealers to do so. And at that price you could pick up a ton of it on eBay.
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

Please note that ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- sometimes substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) as well.

Out of stock...yeah, that's a classic dodge. All the coin guys here do it.

Basically, you walk in and ask for 90%. They show you a container with maybe $40 face in it, saying that's all they have right now. You pull a wad of $100s out of your pocket and they come out of the backroom with a pail of halves they 'forgot were there'.

Seen it a million times

Hope you all got it while you could - it lasted <3 hours, maybe 10 hours if you stretch this to the period where it was just below 15.

Richard Russell, dean of PM predictions, said years ago that in the time leading up to the next breakout we would see daily swings of 10% or more in either direction.

I'm feeling pretty good about the 40 ASEs i ordered!

I probably should have ordered more.

I had been waiting for a deal for a while now and was already thinking i would get in on providents 17.90 each sale but then when it dropped I managed to lock in at 17.24 ($18.10 with credit card and shipping)

Since the cash price is back over $18.10 this morning I can't complain!
