You guys have taught me well (Hawaiian gold coin)

Thanks to your teachings, I did NOT buy a Hawaiian gold coin that I was considering.

It was listed as 1/20 troy oz .999 gold coin. They wanted $250 for it. By doing some math, I learned that 1/20 troy oz is 1.5g. You can buy 1.5g in Assays for around $150. After you look at it that way, the only thing the coin has going for it is the stamping!!

Before finding this site, I probably would have bought the coin. That said, thank you!

What exact coin was that you were being offered for $250?

Oh, ok. Well, those are really cool numismatic finds - mintages were very slim as far as I know. Definitely not bullion coins. Trade at huge premiums normally.
