PK-99 Superconductor

Postby IdahoCopper » Fri Aug 04, 2023 8:33 am

The new room temperature superconductor has copper as a major component.

If it is verified several times, and its electrical and physical properties are defined, factories will rapidly start producing 1,000s of tons of the new wire.

Copper prices should moonshot.

Believe it is LK-99, and the 99 comes from the year of first discovery (24 years ago,) and if you read the scientific assessments it is far from a sure thing that it is a superconductor. And the amount of copper in it is dwarfed by the pure copper lines that already exist, so I wouldn't be excited about any effect on the price of copper even if it was true.

This post might be better in the copper forum.

I hate to say this, but it's probably going to be true for most of us here...
The majority of us will end up dead with the weight of thousands and thousands of pennies burdening our next of kin. They will have no idea what to do with them either.

You would think that if David Charles Grusch et al's claims of reverse engineering alien tech were true, it might have lead to discovering a room temp superconducting material already.
