11 silver nickels.

You were clearly visited by Santa Claus! I am wondering if someone cashed in a full roll of them. If so, they could be floating around neighborhood stores and businesses.

I went to a lot of banks yesterday and the day before. 13 in total. In addition to gobbling up pennies and nickels, I requested half dollars at every one and got ONLY FIVE LOOSE HALVES. Yikes! Oh and no silver. Surprisingly, I was able to buy a $100 bag of LARGE dollar coins resulting in:
NO Morgans
NO Peace dollars
NO silver Ikes
NO 1973

$33.50 total in halves from 6 banks- no silver.
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

NOTE: ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- often
substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) and selling short as well.

Banks being open today was hit-or-miss. As a result, only $13 in small dollars acquired, which were a skunk.

Six banks today. First four had absolutely no halves. The final two produced $22.50 in halves - one silver (1968)

Thought people would find this interesting. The N.F. String & Sons UNC rolls of small dollars from my previous hunt were broken open and returned, but not before I found this oddity.
Looks like a major greaser, since the entire bottom legend and lots of details on his face and hair are missing. Rev is perfectly normal. Cool find.

Cannot say the same about today's discoveries, however.

$60 in small dollars
$100 in quarters

...all skunk.

I would've thought the same if I hadn't found it in an original roll. No equivalent examples online to compare so can't be 100% sure of the diagnosis.

$402.50 in halves on Tuesday from a total of 5 different banks.

It included 1- 40%er.

BUT…

One of the banks gave me 44 Ikes. Actually, it was 43 Ikes plus a nice (VF-XF) 1934-D Peace dollar! Yes!!!!!

Can I say that Christmas came early for you?!?!?!? Also, I am actually impressed that you found $400+ in halves at only FIVE banks. That's an average of roughly 80 dollars per bank!

Let me clarify. I probably went to 12-15 banks total and most didn’t have anything. Two of the banks had about $400-500 each, but I only picked up $100. One had $110 and I took them all. Another had about $90 and I took all of them.

Well I had visions of silver like Steve when by chance I got $300 in large dollars from one bank stop today.

But alas, they were all Ikes. No 73's either but did get three Type 1 Bicentennials, which I always save.

Great timing too since Vegas has a big coin show this weekend and one of the regular dealers buys my Ikes at $1.10 each.
