HIGHLIGHTS OF December's SILVER SEARCHING:
December half searching was about $40000 more than November. In addition, the most SILVER halves this year was found in December, 10% more than November. $242,018.50 halves were searched, and 1990 SILVER halves were found. 4.11 SILVER halves per box on average were found. Also, of the 479 half boxes searched, only 168 of them were SKUNKS, another good ratio for productive boxes. War Nicks found (29) was 14 more than in November which was the lowest month reported in over 2 years; there were 325 SILVER dimes found (25 more than in November); and 3 SILVER quarters were discovered in the wild. aev had the best reported $500 box in December with 314 SILVER halves, second best box of 2011. Of all the $1000 half bags searched, AGCoinHunter found the most, 54 SILVER halves in a bag in December. Greatwun found 9 SILVER dimes in a $250 box of dimes, the most for December. aev found 6 War Nicks in a $100 box of nickels, the best box for December.
On the leadership boards: db23 found the most SILVER halves (640), besting CardNCoins who had 584. db23 found 112 SILVER dimes, besting CardNCoins who was second with 43 of them. dano and cwgii both had 7 War Nicks found during December.

12/3 - amalekidad finds a 1946-D Booker T. Washington in a box of halves.
12/6 - Greatwun gets 9 SILVER dimes in a box of dimes.
12/7 - scrapper2010 gets a nice baggie full of Franklins, 31 in all.
12/8 - db23 gets a 53 SILVER box, including a 1893 Columbian Expo half.
12/9 - Country finds a 1929 Canadian George V SILVER dimes in a box of dimes.
12/9 - AGCoinHunter gets 54 SILVER halves in a $1000 bag.
12/10 - CardsNCoins receives a SILVER 1964 quarter in change.
12/14 - CardsNCoins gets a 1906-D Barber half in a box of halves.
12/15 - aev finds 6 War Nicks and a 1905 Liberty Nickel in a $100 box of nickels.
12/15 - db23 gets a 47 SILVER box, including 24 Walkers.
12/20 - CardsNCoins finds a 1952 Booker T. Washington in a box of halves.

For the entire year of 2011: CardsNCoins found the most SILVER halves (3747) and db23 was a close second at years end with 3308 SILVER halves. Also, CardsNCoins found the most SILVER dimes (1285), far exceeding sisuraha who found 423, and db23 found 306. cwgii found the most War Nicks (111), just exceeding zerocd who found 104 and appjoe who found 98 of them. Also, there were 2 Barber dimes, 2 Barber/Peace dollars, 9 Barber halves, and 9 V-Nicks reported on the thread in 2011. In addtion, CardsNCoins found the most Mercury dimes (130), db23 found the most 40% halves (2630) with CardsNCoins close behind finding 2601 40% halves, CardsNCoins found the most Walkers (265), Franklins (302), and 90% Kennedys (572), AGCoinHunter and Dumpster Diver found the most SILVER proof halves (6), db23 found the most SILVER commemoratives (3), Dumpster Diver found the most Clad Proofs (51), Dumpster Diver found the most Clad Commemorative halves (7), appjoe found the most Clad NIFCs (162), cwgii found the most V-Nicks (3), and finally ZigMeister found the most Buffalo nickels (371, reported here in this thread).
The best SILVER searcher score for 2011 was earned by CardsNCoins. The larger the score for the more coins searched and enhanced by the many SILVER coins found. Congrats ...

It's important to post your SKUNKS as well as your great SILVER finds. That keeps the statistics honest. I'll try to post some graphs of our SILVER finds as 2012 proceeds along by adding data to this initial post. I'll see if I can post some interesting insights into the data here in this initial post for 2012 too. Even though this is a national tabulation of all our finds, I think its fun to know what finds are being made and at what frequentcy.
It might be interesting to see how many Barbers, Walkers, Franklins, and 90% Kennedys are found too. Also, how many Barbers and Mercurys dimes we find. I'll try to keep track of all of these.
