You're searching your own returns back and forth from the pallet they're disbursed from, and will likely see more skunks until someone unwittingly flushes more silver back into circulation. My finds on the West Coast have dried up as well, and I'm starting to encounter entire 2001 rolls, which I've never seen before, which tells me we've taken on more searchers in my area and broken into a new pallet. It's discouraging, but if you don't persevere, someone else will pluck the returns.

Volume is indeed key to finding more. However... the "more" that you find means that you will find more of the existing coins in circulation than the other searchers who search fewer boxes than you (odds favor that) and not that your current finds will total more than previous months... no matter how much you search. We are a nationwide forum, and there's only maybe two monster finds per month, the rest are about 50/50 one or two coins/skunk. It's reaching a point in my area where I might decide I have better things to do than search two boxes for one 40%.

Let the good times roll.

Half Box #70 - Skunk

Half Box #71 - Skunk

Half Box #72 - Skunk

25 of the last 30 boxes came in as skunks and 15 of the last 15.

One possible ray of sunshine in the mix. When I picked up my last 14 boxes on Thursday 8 were out of the same batch all the skunks were coming from. Very light color on the box and no 4 digit number stamped on the box. The other 6 which I'm saving for last were several shades darker on the color and had the a 4 digit number stamped on them. Hopefully those will bring me a change of luck. Just 2 more boxes to go before I hit the different ones.

I realize that I have had some incredible luck with pulling some silver last month. But to keep up some decent numbers I will need to work in volume. Luckily my job affords me time during the day to go to the banks and pick-up the halves as well as the evenings to sort through them. Most of the time when I do road trips it is because of work and therefor the gas and most expenses are on them. So I look at roll searching as a part time job. The hours are flexible and typically the pay has been higher than unemployment.

Didn't get a chance to pickup the 6 boxes today. I did get a couple bags from some coin counters though..

$180.00 Halves CWR and BWR
Skunk

$186.00 Halves from a coin counter.
Skunk

$201.00 Halves from another coin counter (1 90% and 6 40%)
(1) 1964-D
(2) 1965
(1) 1967
(1) 1968-D
(1) 1969-D
(1) 1970-D

I think someone dumped a JFK Album collection. This is the second 70-D I have found this year. The Silver Halves are in AU-BU condition.

The teller told me that they had another bag of halves that had been pulled not too long ago. Said I could call on Monday to pick it up. I will keep my fingers crossed that someone was dumping a collection (Maybe a folder of Walkers and Franklin's are in the other bag!!) :P .
