I'm still on the road traveling back from Texas, so no sorting for me until next week. But I did snag a 1945-D war nickel in my change today from the chinese buffet. Glad I decided to pay cash for lunch ;)

Also all in the first box- 4 clad proofs:'90,'00x2, and a 2010S Clad Proof...Country, I believe I am the first to find this coin!

In the second box- another first for me: I've found a lot of Magician's coins but last night in a roll I found HALF of a Magician's Half (Just the top part- i guess this would be worth 25 cents?) :)

$120 MWR and $10.50 loose Halves: SKUNK

YES, the 2010-S is the first one found by anybody... Congrats... :)

The latest SILVER stats for January have been posted. Look to the first post of this thread to get the details. Always look to the line just before the Kitco quotes to see the last post that was included in the latest update.

2 String boxes of dimes:

Box 1 - skunk

Box 2 - 1962 Rosie and an 1893D German Pfennig (mintage - 1,892,000)

It isn't silver (copper/nickel), but I thought it was pretty cool finding a 118 year old coin.

Today's Haul

Box #1 $500.00 Halves (1 90% and 8 40%) Started out strong!!
(1) 1964-D
(2) 1966
(2) 1967
(3) 1968-D
(1) 1969-D

Box #2 $500.00 Halves (3 40%)
(1) 1965
(1) 1966
(1) 1967

Box #3 $500.00 Halves
Skunk

$500.00 bag of Halves from coin counter
No silver halves and the count was correct.
I did manage to find a Sterling Silver St. Christopher Pendent though!

I also spied a silver edge in the teller tray while picking up my halves and scored a 1964-D Dime!

I did look through some quarters and found a 2005-P California State Quarter that I can't tell if it is a wrong metal planchet error or perhaps one of the Platinum plated State Hood Quarters. I am pretty sure it is not silver plated as the sheen still has a pretty good Copper-Nickel look to it. The Copper layer is missing completely or so it appears. Do any of you know how to tell if it is plated or an error coin?

I got a phone call from my new source bank yesterday. The carrier is out of halves (I guess I pulled their small supply in about 6 weeks), and by the way we will have to start charging you $5 per box. I said no problem, see ya later. Since I live in a rural area, I've tapped dry the two possible half source banks. I could travel 30 miles to other banks, but I don't think that's worth it for me.

So, I guess I'm going to do dimes (and increase my COPPER sorting too). The dimes will be Brink's see through plastic wrappers which are easy to sort. I think I'll start out with $1500/week and see what happens.

Ahhh man, that bites. Well at least you went out with a bang on those Barbers!

You will like dimes. They are easy, and the silver averages about 1/2500 coins (as you know well).

At the rate of $1500/week expect close to 6 rolls of silver by years end.

Thanks..

Even though ordering half boxes is a bust, there is still available, by just asking the tellers, the Half CWRs and the Teller Halves.

$3 Teller Halves - from another bank branch of a different bank a mile away from the bank that shut me down.

1 Franklin 90% SILVER half - '54D
1 JFK 90% SILVER half - '64
1 JFK 40% SILVER half - '68D

NOW THAT MADE MY DAY!!!
