$25 Brink's Box

1935 - Nice F-VF nice chocolate color.

1939 - Nice F-VF nice chocolate color.

1939 - Beautiful EF-AU perfect uncleaned chocolate color. This coin has red luster in all the letters of "IN GOD WE TRUST", some letters of "LIBERTY, and is nice red below Lincoln's bust. Other than very light handling, this coin must have sat misplaced in the back of someone's desk for 70 years just passing the time as the decades rolled by. :mrgreen:

Im in the middle of a big sort and feel like I hit a spot with quite a few wheats. I swear, every other wheat is a pre 40, wonder if someone dumped a collection. I will try and get a rough post on what I end up with when I get done.

Based on your post in 1909 thread, it looks like you've found 2 - 1909VDBs...

Country, you are right. I found an 09 VDB in a box i sorted in May. I usually dont keep stats or post but once I saw all these wheats, I figured I needed to see what I have and post. These were all in one sort , not cummulative. Thanks for keeping tabs on tracking, silver also :D

Lol, it was a chicago hoard. I pretty much only sort pennies in Chicago and not Houston. The percentages in Houston are about 18 or 20 and here they usually run 25-30 so for the same amount of time, I average better copper. I only ever do Bank boxes as I dont have the bag luxury. I did 3 large pickups and it was somewhere in these boxes. It was the brinks boxes that were keeping these wheats warm for me. I thought man, there must be a whole set, I bet the 1909 s and 14d are the indistinguishables. one of them is a 19X9s and the back is so worn. I tried using the loupe but I think nic a date will be required.

My first post to this tread.

From one String box:

1 - 1916;
1 - 1917;
1 - 1918;
1 - 1920;
1 - 1930;
1 - 1939.

All with no mint marks. This is the most I've ever pulled from one box.
