In the summer of 2004 (I know that was a long time ago), I happened to be in an antique mall type of place in Maine. I saw a 1909 Lincoln penny and realized it was a 1909-VDB (not S-VDB), but still much more desirable to me than a regular 1909. It was about VF-XF condition. The 2x2 holder was mislabeled, which worked just fine for me.

Found a 1909 (regular no vdb or mint mark) while sorting $240 worth of pennies this past weekend.

Back in 1969, I was a wee lad crawling on the floor in our house. I happened to look under the moulding in our living room, and saw several pennies. I got a butter knife, and managed to get them out. I remember that two of them were from 1944 and 1945; the other was a 1909! Needless to say that wet my appetite for coin collecting having found these coins in such an unusual place.
