bman wrote:Nice class ring! I've returned 2 as well, first check the class ring finder website to see if it's listed there. If not, search the web for the school's alumni or the schools secretary might be willing to pass along your info to them. Good luck! 8-)

I checked classmates.com with no luck but did not know of a class ring finder website. I just know if my daughter lost her's I would like someone to return it. Thanks for the tips.

Ran to the bank this morning to dump the rejects from $450 face searched. I brought along the ATPro to hit a city park next to the bank. Well, some new hunter has decided to practice digging holes here in this park......WTF!!!!! By the looks of it I think he was using a soup spoon. And it's obvious he didn't have a pinpointer by shape of some pf the holes. Guys like that ruin it for the rest of us. I like to leave an area I hunted like I was never there.....sometimes that doesn't quite work out but at least I try!!! :D

I had a guy once that want to be "hunting buddies". When he got done it looked like a heard of gophers went nuts and any trash he dug he threw down on the ground. I tried very hard to educate him but in the end we parted ways. Like you I do the best I can to cover any tracks and always take out my trash. If I am in a real nice lawn sometimes I won't dig anything where I have to cut a plug.

That is the one thing about this program. I dig more pull tabs/balls of foil but like you I will do it all day long for a gold ring.

I ended up grabbing a used White's surfmaster last week and I figured I would bring it on vacation with me. We rented a lake house up near the Canadian border. The place is rented weekly year-round and has been for a few years now. I figured there would be something to find in the driveway or off the dock. Skunk, nothing but nails and garbage. Not even a penny. Went hiking to a waterfall and I found 2 cents without the detector. Wife found a dollar bill in the water! Boring story so far right. We just got home tonight and went out to feed the Guinea hens. We had some good rain the last couple of days and as I was walking out to the guinea house, I noticed a little glimmer in the "grass" (more like crabgrass/mud) I reached down and yanked out a bracelet. It was in pretty deep on one side so it must have been there a while. Marked 14K!!!! I almost crapped my pants. By my quick calc, it's about a $500 score!!!! I have spent hours metal detecting in my yard and the best thing I have found is a clad quarter. Freaking crazy!!

Last weekend we went to North Beach, this weekend we went to Breezy Point beach. North beach is owned by the town and Breezy Point is owned by the county but they both charge admission, I guess it keeps the crowds down? I don't mind paying if I find some gold! 8-)
